Course Description: The primary objective of this course is to introduce the fundamental concepts necessary for the design and use of a database and to provide a practical experience in applying these concepts using commercial database management systems such as Oracle.

  • Oracle Lab session: will be held in the ENG 003 lab (in the Basement of Englehard Hall)
  • This requires an account on Oracle available on pegasus. So you need a an account on pegasus first. To get an account on Oracle, follow the steps below. You have to have your oracle account ready before you come to the lab class.
    Since Oracle can be access only through pegasus, you have to follow the following steps:
    1. First create an account on pegasus. The procedure to do this is available at (https://www.pegasus.rutgers.edu/cgi-bin/makeacct) If you already have an account, please make sure you can successfully login.
    2. Send an email to Songmei Yu (songmei@cimic.rutgers.edu) from your "pegasus account" She must know your login name on pegasus to create an oracle account.
    3. Please send this information to her by this Friday Jan 27 so that you will have it ready by next Tuesday.
