Goal: Digital Library News will act as a periodic electronic snapshot and alerting service for the Digital Libraries field. Our goal is to gather notices of ongoing events and new developments in one short, periodic publication. Articles will be brief (one to two paragraphs each), with pointers to URL's containing more information. Digital Library News will be published three times a year, in June, October, and February, and is sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Task Force on Digital Libraries and by Advances in Digital Libraries, an annual conference now in its fourth year. To submit articles and announcements of events, send a brief report by email to Susan Feldman, sef2@cornell.edu. Be sure to include a contact name, email address and a URL so that readers can find more extensive information. Deadline for first issue: June 28, 1997.
