A bachelors degree in a related field, including computer science, engineering, and business. Graduate students in MBA, computer science, and engineering programs are also eligible.

The certificate program is offered through the Faculty of Management and Rutgers-CIMIC as a part of the Division of Extended Educational Programs (DEEP), the continuing education division of the Newark Campus. The program is administered by the Faculty of Management and CIMIC in cooperation with the School of Law, School of Criminal Justice,Newark Faculty of Arts and Science, Center for Global Change and Governance, and School of Communication, Information and Library Studies from both the Newark and New Brunswick campuses.
The CIMIC director, Dr. Nabil R. Adam, will serve as the program director, and is responsible for designing of the program, administering the course offerings, and maintaining effective collaboration and communication with the related academic units within and outside Rutgers as well as industry and governmental agencies.
Students who have earned previous credit for courses in electronic commerce may, upon request, be waived from specific components of the certificate program.
